Aaron Goodwin, star of Ghost Adventures, has filed for divorce following the arrest of his wife, Victoria Goodwin, for an alleged murder-for-hire attempt.
On March 12, Aaron, 48, filed a divorce complaint against his wife, 32, in Clark County, Nevada. The divorce filing, which PEOPLE obtained, states that neither party should be awarded alimony and that community assets and debts should be divided according to Nevada law. Aaron also seeks confirmation that his separate assets and debts remain his sole property and requests reimbursement for his legal costs.
In the complaint, Aaron explains that his reasons for seeking divorce are based on the growing incompatibility between him and his wife. He claims that their “views, tastes, likes, and dislikes” have become so incompatible that living together as husband and wife is no longer possible. Aaron further states that “there is no possibility of reconciliation between husband and wife.”
The couple married in August 2022, with the ceremony held at Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion. However, Aaron listed the official date of marriage as “on or about May 4, 2020,” the date they were initially scheduled to wed, according to Us Weekly.
On March 6, Victoria was arrested for soliciting to commit murder and conspiring to commit murder, as reported in inmate records reviewed by PEOPLE. She is being held on $100,000 bail, and her preliminary hearing is set for March 25.
Authorities discovered messages from Victoria to an inmate in a Florida prison in which she allegedly discussed plans to have Aaron killed. The messages included details about the filming locations and times for Aaron’s show. She is accused of setting aside over $11,500 for the inmate in October 2024, with messages discussing a $2,500 upfront payment for the hit.
In one of the texts obtained by TMZ, Victoria allegedly wrote, “Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce.” Victoria has denied any intention to harm Aaron, claiming she was merely fantasizing about life without him, according to police reports.
This case has shocked fans of the show Ghost Adventures, and the story continues to develop as the legal proceedings unfold.
