Believing that the cat would succumb to a severe illness, the owner decided to abandon it, but…
Unexpectedly, as we made our way home late last night, a peculiar yellow bag caught our attention, discarded near the roadside bushes. Intrigued, we approached and noticed subtle movements emanating from within. Concerned, I stepped out of the car and investigated further.
To our astonishment, we discovered a cat in distress, struggling for breath, its gasps piercing the air. It became evident that the cat had been abandoned due to its illness, left vulnerable in the heavy rain that had persisted since the afternoon. The callousness of such treatment towards a living being left us incredulous.
In that moment, the cat’s feeble breaths were barely perceptible, its soaked body and plummeting body temperature painting a grim picture. With closed eyes and trembling limbs, its condition was precarious. The mere thought of arriving seconds later filled us with dread.
Without hesitation, we began to examine the cat, revealing superficial wounds that, thankfully, weren’t severe. However, the gravest concern lay in the lack of oxygen reaching its brain and the waterlogged state of its lungs.
Throughout the night, we tirelessly worked, utilizing every resource at our disposal to save the cat’s life. Administering medication, we witnessed a glimmer of hope as it gradually regained consciousness. With warm water, we gently cleansed its body, removing dirt and providing relief. The cat’s eyes were carefully attended to, washed with soothing drops.
By morning, a ray of optimism emerged as the cat managed to consume a small amount of food. It appeared that she had defied the critical condition and held the potential to recover with diligent care.
Nevertheless, recognizing the importance of a thorough examination, we resolved to take her to a hospital as soon as dawn broke, ensuring her journey towards full recovery.
