An unlucky in love Jack Russell is hoping to find ‘The One’ in time for Valentine’s Day, after over 200 days in the care of Battersea’s Brands Hatch centre.
Seven-year-old Jack arrived at Battersea 217 days ago after a change in his owner’s circumstances. Sadly, since arriving at the much-loved charity, Jack has received little interest from potential matches and has now been in the care of the Kent-based centre for five times as long as the average dog (35 days).
Staff believe that that the reason for Jack’s long search for love is due to him lacking confidence in some basic life skills, such as formal handling and spending time alone. While staff have been helping little Jack to become more confident in these areas, he is now looking for someone to continue this training and help him become the best dog that he can be.
Michelle Bevan, Rehoming and Welfare Manager at Battersea Brands Hatch said, “Despite being small in stature, Jack’s big personality has helped him capture the hearts of everyone that meets him. This little dog has a huge amount of love to give, and we’re really hoping that he finds his perfect match in time for Valentine’s Day.
“Jack is a true romantic and loves nothing more than a long walk in the countryside with his favourite people, followed by watching the world pass by out of a window. Jack is also incredibly smart and enjoys learning new tricks in return for a tasty piece of chicken.”
Being a little anxious, Jack is looking for a home where he can have all the attention to himself as an only dog, in an adult-only household. Jack also enjoys the simpler things in life and would prefer to live in a quiet location where he can enjoy long, romantic walks with his new match.
Michelle continues, “Jack has such a big heart and so much love to offer. He’s really looking for someone to help him work through his quirks and help him grow into the confident little dog that he can be. He may not be perfect, but he is definitely worth it!”
