Radiating pure happiness, the cat rejoiced as she finally ushered her seven kittens into a cozy home, putting an end to their years of street life.
A stray cat is so happy to get her seven kittens into a safe home after wandering the streets for a couple of years.
A cat had been seen wandering around a horse farm in Wellington, Florida for some time. A worker named Maximo started caring for the friendly stray when she came to his camper. A while later, he noticed that the cat was pregnant.
He placed towels in a laundry basket so the cat could have a better place to have kittens. He continued to look after the feline family until the litter of seven was big enough to start venturing out. Hoping to get the cat spayed and the kitties into good homes, he contacted Carmen Weinberg, founder of Animal Friends Project.
“He called me and asked me for help because the kittens had started to climb out of the basket on their own,” Carmen told Love Meow.
“The mom had been living in the area for a couple of years and this was her second litter.”
Carmen rushed to the area to check on the family of eight. When she arrived, she was met with a friendly momma cat and a basket of very demanding kittens.

“It was going to get cold so I went to check the situation. The kittens were very hungry when I picked them up. The poor mom must have been relieved to have help feeding all those babies.”
Carmen reached out to the rescue community in hopes of getting the feline family into foster care. Yesenia Perez, founder of Bella’s Promise Pet Rescue, immediately stepped up to help.
They wasted no time and sprang into action. “Yesenia told me that she found a foster volunteer who could take them in,” Carmen shared with Love Meow.
The cat mom finally bid farewell to life on the streets and embarked on a new journey with her kittens.
“She was very hungry and devoured the canned food I gave her. Some of the kittens came running to eat too,” Carmen shared with Love Meow.

The kittens were a bit skinny despite their mom’s best efforts to keep them fed. They immediately dove into the wet food and started eating, which was a good sign.
The cat mom was finally able to relax. She lay down on the clean floor and was so thankful to get some help feeding all seven very hungry mouths.
After getting their bellies filled, Carmen transported them to their new abode with Foster Volunteer Randy.
Randy set up a room with plenty of food, blankets, toys and a few cardboard boxes for the kitties to wrestle around in.
The sweet momma will never have to go through another pregnancy and will get to enjoy life as a spoiled indoor cat from now on.
“The kittens are so happy to have a place to run around.”
The little bundles of fur still have a lot of growing to do. They are busy playing and honing their feline skills with their mom watching over them.
The family of eight will enjoy this holiday season in a warm, comfy home, away from the elements.
Once they are big enough, the kittens and their mom will be spayed and neutered and available for adoption through Bella’s Promise Pet Rescue.
The mama is eating like a champ, enjoying all the attention and pets, and loving the indoor life.
