After enduring several challenging months in a shelter, hope is rekindled for this cat, bringing a renewed sense of optimism.
Daily life in a shelter is trying for most cats who appreciate the abnormality of the situation. Moose is one of the cats for whom the shelter was a hostile place. She showed her true colors when the door to a home opened for her.
Moose was found in the city of Los Angeles . She was taken in by The Happy Kitty Rescue , reports Cole & Marmalade . When she arrived, she was very ill and had to be treated by a veterinarian. She spent several weeks in a cramped box, feeling uncomfortable. Stress and worry could be seen on her face and the volunteers felt sorry for the feline. She was waiting for help.
“I decided to take her home with me”
Noticing Moose ‘s dejected expression every day, the founder of the shelter, Grace Choi , decided to take the cat home once her health improved. She admitted with some emotion: “I decided to take her home with me. She immediately thanked me for saving her . ”
Quickly, Moose felt at ease. She has made a habit of following her new friend everywhere, to ask for caresses. Grace said: “She was so happy to leave the shelter . ”
A new name for a new life
Living with the cat for several weeks, Grace chose to rename her. From now on, it would be called Sunshine , to symbolize its solar and very luminous personality. Very symbolic, this name change was an opportunity to materialize the change that has taken place in the feline’s life.
Thanks to the kindness of her owner, Sunshine was able to overcome ongoing health problems, including a lung infection. Her human testified: “It’s extraordinary to see what a little attention can do for these cats . ” Indeed, the cat’s state of health clearly improved when she managed to reduce her anxiety. Calm, rest and patience were mainly responsible for his recovery.
Joey and Sunshine: a duo that found each other well
Sunshine wasn’t the only feline to share Grace ‘s daily life . Joey , another cat, had been adopted a few months earlier by the founder of the shelter. Their complicity was almost immediate. Grace said: “Joey has found his soul mate… They are so cute because they have matching fur colors . ” In the photos, we can see the 2 felines literally rolled up in a basket.
