‘Young Santa’ and the rescued kitten join forces to shed light on the ongoing need for homes for cats throughout the year.
One very dapper “cat lady” became Young Santa to benefit TNR (trap, neuter, release) efforts in Los Angeles. Of course, we’re talking about Nathan the Cat Lady, who appeared with an adorable black and white kitten, Domino, at an event for volunteer rescuers in the Los Angeles area.
“Had a blast playing Young Santa at the Luxe Paws event at Sumi’s. Thanks for having me. Also, this is Domino, and she’s up for adoption,” shared Nathan the CatLady.
Young Santa Helping Cats and Kittens in Los Angeles
As Young Santa knows, Domino and many other cats and kittens aren’t just seeking homes for the holidays. They need constant help every day. In this case, help arrived for Domino just in time.
Recently, the tiny kitten had a near miss with a car while crossing a street in Frogtown, but volunteers hopped to rescue her. Thanks to them, she found a foster home where she’s having a great time as she awaits her furever family.
“[Domino is] very outgoing and loves all humans and other cats. Her foster thinks she’d do well with cat-friendly dogs, too. Domino loves her purple fuzzy worm toy and scratch lounger. Lately, she’s taken to perching on her foster’s shoulder to purr and give her head rubs. Too cute. She’s full of personality, very playful yet easy and would be a welcome addition to any home. Must be adopted into a home with another cat,” shared Luxe Paws.
It Takes a Village to Save Each Life
The event at a cute shop called Sumi’s helped Luxe Paws, a group of TNR volunteers. The rescuers shared how much they loved seeing their friend as Young Santa with Domino. He is shining a light on all the cats that need help the most.
“It’s hard to put into words how special photos like this are. This is our friend Nathan the Cat Lady, but we also get pics of the special little souls we’ve somehow managed to save from the streets of LA [with] fosters and adopters. To see these kids safe, healthy and loved is priceless,” they shared.
Every Cat and Kitten Matters
Domino is certainly one of the luckiest of kittens. How many will ever have a Young Santa to help them find a home? But before that could happen, she had a village of people looking out for her, and against all odds she made it.
“Every cat and kitten matters. We can reduce the number of cats and kittens that end up in the shelter if we pay more attention to ensuring the spay/neuter reaches more cats and kittens like Domino make it off the street and aren’t left behind to become just another ‘stray,’” shared Luxe Paws.
“Thank you, Nathan, for shining a light on the kitties who need us the most. Thank you to our fosters, adopters and all our friends who throw their support behind our tiny volunteer team,” Luxe Paws shared.

Young Santa Nathan appeared at a cute shop where they adore cats and often help rescuers. The shop’s owner, Sumi Siegel, is a Cat Mom who regularly shares stories about Minnie, the glamorous and chatty rescued tuxie and her furry friends.
“Minnie never steers me wrong! Happy Caturday!” Siegel shared.
