“Bogart the Bulldog: The Royal Watchdog of Denmark’s Streets”
Meet Bogart, the bulldog sensation from Denmark who has become an internet star. What’s his claim to fame? Well, it all started when someone captured him gazing through cleverly painted holes in a fence that resembled a king’s crown and robe.
Bogart is a curious and playful pup with a penchant for people-watching. He adores observing passersby from his yard, and one time, he even managed to sneak away by hopping over the old fence. Realizing Bogart’s adventurous spirit, his owner, Ranveig Bjørklid Levinsen, decided to build a new, taller fence that would keep him from escaping.
Levinsen shared, “There are a lot of people passing by every day, taking pictures of the dogs, and locals often stop to chat and offer treats to them.”
Since Winston, Bogart’s brother, had a habit of jumping over the fence too, Levinsen’s husband had a brilliant idea. He added holes to the fence, allowing both Winston and Bogart to see what’s happening outside without any escape attempts.
Levinsen chuckled, “I had the idea, but I’m not great at painting. My youngest daughter painted the costumes around the holes.”
Bogart is undeniably special. He’s incredibly cute, affectionate, but oh-so-stubborn. He’s not a fan of walks, preferring to hold court from his fence-side throne. In fact, there’s talk of adding another painted costume around another hole in the fence for Bogart’s brother, ensuring twice the amusement for anyone passing by.
Each time Bogart or his brother peers through the holes, pedestrians on the other side can’t help but smile. Bogart clearly favors the regal crown hole, and we’re certain he feels like the king of his one-street kingdom.
