Venus Williams Sparks Engagement Rumors with Andrea Preti
Venus Williams continues to fuel speculation about her relationship with Italian actor Andrea Preti.
On Monday, March 3, the 44-year-old tennis icon was spotted at a hotel in Milan, Italy, alongside Preti, 36. As he assisted her with her luggage, a sparkling diamond ring on her left hand was on full display, adding to ongoing engagement rumors.
The pair first caught public attention in July 2024 while enjoying a romantic getaway in Italy. However, speculation about a possible engagement intensified in early February when Williams was seen wearing the dazzling ring during a tennis training session in Rome. Close-up images revealed what appeared to be a square-cut diamond set in a pavé band.
During that training session, Williams was all smiles as Preti affectionately kissed her on the cheek, further hinting at their close bond.
Previously, Williams was in a relationship with financier Nicholas (Nicky) Hammond before their split in 2019. In an October 2022 interview with Glamour UK, she shared insights into her personal life, reflecting on her long-standing single status.
“I’ve had a single life for a long time, and I think it’s really easy to get stuck in that,” she said. “It makes you think about yourself, what you want, and how to behave.” She added, “When life changes, you’ve got to know when to change too. Whether in a relationship or single, you have to go with the flow.”
Williams and Preti have been making more public appearances together, including attending the Dsquared2 Fall/Winter 2025 fashion show at Milan Fashion Week in late February. A video shared by WWD on Instagram captured the two exchanging a quick kiss while posing for photos at the event.
Despite the speculation, the couple has yet to confirm an engagement. Interestingly, Williams appeared to wear a different ring for her Milan Fashion Week outing, and she was previously seen wearing a gold band at Dior’s Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2025 show in Paris on January 27.
For now, fans are left guessing whether the tennis legend is set to walk down the aisle.
