WNBA Legend Rebecca Lobo Makes Bold Prediction About Caitlin Clark’s Return.Phuong

Rebecca Lobo, a women’s basketball legend for decades, continues to share her insightful analysis as a commentator and analyst for ESPN. From her time as a star at UConn under Geno Auriemma to her early years in the WNBA, Lobo has helped shape women’s basketball. She led the Huskies to an NCAA Tournament championship in 1995 and was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, in a season still regarded as one of the most dominant in women’s college basketball history.

After college, Lobo became a face of the WNBA when she was assigned to the New York Liberty. In her debut game, she scored 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. The Liberty reached the WNBA Finals that year, ultimately losing to the Houston Comets.

Now, as an ESPN commentator and analyst, Lobo continues to share her insights. On Monday, she made a bold prediction about the near future of the Indiana Fever, highlighting a key player ahead of Caitlin Clark’s return:

Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston (7)

“Aliyah Boston’s performance has been off the charts in the last 4 games. She’s shot 78% during that stretch (all without Caitlin Clark). She averages 12.8 shots with CC and only 6.8 shots without her, in similar minutes (31 MPG vs. 28 MPG). She could be in for a scoring explosion when CC returns,” Lobo tweeted.

Clark has missed the Fever’s last four games due to injury and will also sit out Tuesday’s game in Atlanta. Her status for Saturday’s home game against the defending champion New York Liberty remains uncertain.

Aliyah Boston, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft after winning a championship at South Carolina, has made significant strides in Clark’s absence. Now in her third WNBA season, Boston is averaging 14.3 points per game across 88 career appearances.

In Indiana’s recent blowout win in Chicago, Boston shot 4-for-7 from the field to score 11 points, adding 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Kelsey Mitchell led the Clark-less Fever with 17 points in the 79-52 victory.

With Clark’s return looming, all eyes will be on how Boston’s performance evolves alongside the superstar guard. If Lobo’s prediction proves correct, the Fever could be poised to make waves in the remainder of the season.
